Hi lovelies! Today I'm sharing a super easy way to make my favorite summertime drink - sweet tea! I'd usually make this by the pitcher, but since getting a Keurig I found a much quicker way to do it. Don't like sweet tea? That's fine, just omit the sugar. Iced coffee fan? The same technique works for it too! {Keep reading for the how-to!}
You'll need:
- Keurig
- Pint glass
- Tea bag
- Sugar
- Ice
- Long spoon
- Optional: lemons!
Put about 4 teaspoons full of sugar in the glass, add more or less depending on your preference. Then fill the glass about 3/4 full with ice.
Fold the teabag in half and put it where you'd normally put a pod, avoiding the needle area.
I use the medium cup setting, as I've found it's the perfect amount with the ice.
Let it brew!
Use your long spoon and stir for about 30 seconds or until all the sugar is dissolved. The ice will melt, this is normal. Top it off with some more ice cubes, garnish with a fun straw and lemon slice and that's it!
If you've spent any time in the South, you know what a commodity good sweet tea is. I love whipping up a quick glass of some homemade sweet tea without having to boil a pot full of water and tea bags, it is so much quicker and easier! This technique works amazingly with coffee as well to make a great glass of iced coffee, too. Just swap the tea bag with your regular coffee pod and add creamer at the very end when you add the additional ice!
Have you tried making iced beverages in your Keurig? If you try this, I'd love to hear how yours turns out!
xo
