Hi lovelies! With last month's beauty boxes behind me, it's time for my favorite series: the monthly head to head on how the top three monthly beauty subscription services stack up against one another. By now, I've tested nearly all the products, so I can definitively pick a winner... but who will it be? Not sure which one (or two or three!) you want to subscribe to? Have no fear, my dear, as I bring you February's edition of Birchbox vs. Glossybox vs. Ipsy Glam Bag! {Click to see how they stack up!}
This month's Birchbox may just be my favorite, like ever. While I have tried everything except the Nail Rock (which I will be soon, I just keep forgetting!) I am pretty happy with this box. The spray dry conditioner is the best thing since sliced bread, the perfume sample is empty from my wearing it so much. I really like the mineral eyeshadow, it's very pigmented and wears great. January's Glossybox was another good one. I really like the sea salt spray, the body wash, and the mineral blush (which I can't stop using!) I'm not the hugest fan of the beautyblender, I've tried it a few times and find I get better application with my fingers. The Vichy cream is nice, but I'm a cult-loyal follower of my favorite Korres moisturizers. Want to see each product in better detail? January Glossybox Review.
Ipsy's bag this month is super adorable (doesn't it remind you of a city-scape but with beauty bottles instead?) and the products received were okay. I really like the Healthy Hair leave-in conditioner and the Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm. The eye shadow pencil is a lovely copper shade that also works fantastic as an eyeliner. The other products I was just meh about. I have to complain a little here. Normally, Ipsy Glam Bags contain nearly all (or at least 3 out of 5) full sized products. This month there was one (the Malin + Goetz lip balm). So it was a little bit of a disappointment there. Want to see each product again? Ipsy January Review.
Here's the breakdown:
Birchbox ~ Cost $10
Harvey Prince Journey ~ $1.61
Inika Mineral Eyeshadow in Eternal Marine ~ $20
Nail Rock in Velvet ~ $6.99
Serge Normant Dry Conditioner ~ $7.81
Burts Bees Moisturizer ~ $2.50
===========================================
TOTAL VALUE $38.91
Glossybox ~ Cost $21
Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash ~ $7
The Original Beautyblender ~ $19.95
BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush ~ $18.57
Toni&Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray ~ $5.51
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream ~ $9.12
========================================
TOTAL VALUE $60.15
Ipsy Glam Bag ~ Cost $10
Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil ~ $6
Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm ~ $12
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner ~ $3.59
Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads ~ $10.93
Skiin Soothing and Smoothing Eye Cream ~ $24.98
=====================================
TOTAL VALUE $57.50
*All prices were calculated by creating a ratio of the cost of the full size to it's size and then applying that to the sample size to arrive at a price. For example, if something costs $10 for 1 ounce, and a 1/2 ounce sample is received, I'm valuing it at $5. Make sense?
THE VERDICT
Birchbox was super fun this month, I've already ordered the full sized dry conditioner. Glossybox had a great box with a few products I'll surely use. Finally, Ipsy had my least favorite Glam Bag yet, with only a few killer products and only one full sized.
THE WINNER
The clear winner this month, hands down is Birchbox. It;s very rare to have a full sized product in a Birchbox (they promise only samples, remember ladies!), so the fact there were two really impressed me. While I wasn't too keen on either Glossybox or Ipsy this month, I have to go with Glossybox for second place only because I was so dissatisfied with the lack of full sized products in my Ipsy Bag this month. So there you have it, 1. Birchbox, 2. Glossybox, 3. Ipsy Glam Bag.
Who would you pick as the winner? Did I get it right?

I'm obsessed with Toni & Guy's Sea Salt spray....LOVE it. Don't waste your time with the velvet manicure...mine was a disaster. See the blog for my results...lol!

What a wonderful review. I'm thrilled to be receiving Birchboxes this year (they were a Christmas gift from a girlfriend) and wondered how they compared to the others you mention (which I see on other blogs). Your verdict makes me even happier. Thanks!
