Hi lovelies! In keeping with this week's theme of re-imagining and reinventing old jewelry pieces into new ones, I bring you this gem necklace. I dug this plain necklace out of my stash, it's one I bought years ago because I liked the acrylic hexagons but don't think I've ever worn it. It just seemed to need a little something more. Similar to the Tortoise Gem Earrings I posted on Monday, I decided to give it the same treatment! {Click for the how-to!}
You'll need:
- An old necklace with flat pieces to it
- Gems (these are from the dollar store!)
- E-6000 glue
- Q-tip & napkin
How-to:
- Plan out your design and lay it out. I decided on the pattern shown and chose to do it on both sides of the pieces.
- Squeeze glue onto the napkin. Use your Q-tip to pick up some glue and apply it to the back of the stone.
- Press firmly into place and repeat for the other pieces on the same side. Let dry thoroughly (a few hours) and flip over and repeat. Let dry overnight.
I love how fun and whimsical this necklace now is, and it's going to be a great layering piece too! I can't wait to wear it over a plain sweater for that easy, effortless glam look!
Let these DIYs serve as inspiration for you to remake and recreate pieces you already own but no longer use. I can't wait to see what you make!
