Mani Monday ~ Faux Shiny Matte
Hi lovelies! Today's mani is a pretty neon matte finish, using China Glaze's neons I recently picked up at Sally's. After the base coat, though, I got to thinking if I could maybe mimic a faux shine on the matte without using a topcoat. Well, I think it works, it's a subtle trompe l'oeil, and I love it! {Click to keep reading!}
What you'll need are two similar-ish colors. Here I used a bright pink with coral undertones and a bright coral with shimmery pink to it. (L: China Glaze Surfin' For Boys, R: China Glaze Pool Party) I applied Pool Party as the base and then just hand painted a stripe down the center of Surfin' For Boys. It doesn't need to be perfect, just enough to trick the eye into thinking it's a sheen of light on the nail.
I think it turned out quite well, and do love these colors!
