Hi lovelies! With wedding season approaching, most brides are hurriedly trying to get 3 trillion things done at once, all while trying to stay way under an already way too low budget. What's a woman to do? Well, with the amazing DIY supplies from David Tutera Bridal, she can cut costs while still not sacrificing chic. In the first of many to come, I present to you my DIY Table Number Lighted Centerpiece. {How to after the jump}
I used:
From the Bridal Collection by David Tutera:
- Faceted Diamond Charms
- Silver Wrap LED Lights
- Bling on a Roll
- Table Numbers
- Table Number Stands
Other Items:
- Glass bowl/jar (from the dollar store!)
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Fill the empty bowl with the LED lights and diamond gems. Place the table number stand inside.
Now let's bling out this plain table number a bit, okay? What I love about these 'rhinestones' is that they are not rhinestones at all! Faceted concave plastic, but look at that shine! Cut a piece about 8" long or so.
Cut the individual rows so you have 6 strips. I ended up with two extras, but if you're making more than one table number, this will be fine.
Working in roughly 2" sections at a time, apply hot glue to the perimeter of the table number, and add the bling. Since the 'stones' are attached by thread, they will curve around very easily.
Now you can either leave a 2" spot at the bottom with no stones, or you can improvise. I used some plain white cardboard that I hot glued at the very bottom of the card and glued my bling over it. I did the same on the other side, and glued the two pieces together. I later trimmed it down to fit just perfectly.
Repeat on the other side. Here's a better view of the 'holder' on the bottom.
Switch on the lights, hide the battery pack under the stand's base inside the bowl, and attach your blinged out table number. I love how easy this is but how gorgeous it looks. Simple and chic!
I love projects that are an extravagant necessity, like this one! Having candles, flowers, and table numbers can be quite costly (and cumbersome!). But paring it down to just one item that itself is as beautiful if not more than all the rest speaks much louder.
If a wedding is in your future, I highly recommend heading over to Michael's and checking out David Tutera's line!
