DIY ~ Valentine's Treats For Your Sweets
Hi lovelies! Ahh Valentine's Day is almost here! And while we'd all love to give and get a bevy of luxury goods, sadly it's not in most of our budgets. Well have no fear. For less than $10, you can make your own gifts for EVERYONE! These are great for your special someone, kids, friends, co-workers, etc. {How-to after the jump}
You'll need: Pretzel rods, chocolate chips (or these AMAZING cherry chips I found at my local grocery store), sugar crystals, waxed paper, and adorable gift bags.
First thing I did was get my spread all ready. I laid out a sheet of waxed paper, put the chips in a glass, sprinkles on a plate, and I was ready to go.
To melt the chips, make sure to use a glass container, I found a pint glass was perfect. Microwave at 50% power for 1 minute, then take it out and stir. Return to the microwave for another 2 minutes 30 seconds at 50% power, then remove and stir. You should be ready to dip! Dip the pretzel rod into your melted chocolate, swirl it around the side of the glass to get an even coating and to get any excess off. Promptly roll it around in the sprinkles, and then place on the waxed paper to let harden.
You can put them in the fridge or freezer to set faster once you're done making all you want. I found that the supplies I had yielded about 15 pretzel rods. I do plan on making more!
Wrap a few up in a cute little bag, and that's it! These are so delicious, you'll need to make extra for yourself :)
xx
