DIY ~ Faux Apothecary Jars
Hi lovelies! As promised, a new DIY each day this week! Today's came to me when I was trying to figure out what to do with the shells we collected at Huntington Beach. A short trip to the dollar store and $4 later, I had what I needed! This is a great way to store jewelry, cottonballs and q-tips, anything! {Steps, after the jump}
You'll need:
* 2 glass candlesticks
* 2 flat bottomed jars/vases
* Sandpaper
* E-6000 glue
Begin by sanding all surfaces that will come in contact with the E-6000 glue. This is a necessity to ensure that the glue properly adheres.
Don't forget the jar bottoms!
Apply a nice string of glue around the circumference of the candlestick holder.
And firmly push the jar bottom onto the glue, making it as close to centered as you can.
Let dry overnight, and then they're ready to use!
I haven't decided on a permanent home for these guys yet, but they sure do fit perfectly with my beach themed living room (and the other jars and vases of shells throughout!)
What would you use these for?
xx

You got those at the Dollar store??? That's super cool! I have tons of shells I need to display. I'm definitely keeping this in mind!
ReplyDeleteOoo Lia! This is a great DIY! i would never have guessed you added a flat bottomed glass over candle stick holders. This looks like sthg I'd find from Horchow home. I would probably use this for decor on a table setting for a party.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Barely even recognize the finished product!
