My Look ~ Ann Taylor Denver Event

Hello lovelies!  Last week, I showed you all the amazing Ann Taylor event I attended at the Four Seasons Denver, and you even saw a little peek at what I wore to it.  Well here's the full outfit post!
I wanted to style it with a brightly colored bottom.  Red was my choice, but the options at Ann Taylor were limited and not exactly flattering to my curves.  Sidenote:  It was a good thing, because there were women there rocking the red pants and red pencil skirt I was considering!  No one had on my top though!
So I knew I had these long NY & Company shorts at home, and that turquoise would be a killer color combo with the leopard print top!  I also wore my brown Guess platform heels, a vintage braided leather belt, vintage bracelets, and Jewelmint necklace and earrings.

What do you think of how I styled this look?  How badly do I need to stop taking pics inside my house?  LOL!

Since this blouse was an investment for me, I plan on doing a post very soon on how to take a piece like this and wear it a bunch of different ways!  In the September Marie Claire, a certain notorious blogger is shown there showing how to take a $3000 investment Marc Jacobs dress and make it every day wearable.  Uhhh was anyone else out there disgusted at that??  First of all, my wedding dress didn't cost that much.  Secondly, throwing a sweater over it doesn't make it work-appropriate (not that my job's dress code is strict, but just sayin) and layering a shirt under it doesn't change it either.  It's not every day wearable for the general public!  Perhaps since I don't have my parents money to fund my wardrobe a $90 blouse is a friggen investment.  I better be able to wear it to work, to the grocery store, to the park, etc.  So I will show you how to get the lowest cost per wear possible!

PS - I will be posting the rest of my outfit challenge looks tomorrow, the long wkend threw me off!

xxooxoxo
